5Bowflex weight stand  Jan 30, 2010
This is just what my husband needed! no more bending over to heft the weights up off of the floor. The stand was easy to put together, unlike some of the reviews I had read prior to purchasing. I'll have to guess that bowflex heard enough bad reviews of the instructions to re-write them. That being said, my husband simply looked at the diagrams and didn't read any of the instructions, anyway. He's not a super handy man, so this is saying a lot. He loves it, I love that he's safer. Two thumbs up!

4A Must Have for the SelectTech Dumbbells  Jan 27, 2010
I purchased the SelectTech Dumbbell stand at the same time I purchased my Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells and I'm glad I did. With the number of times I change the weight on the dumbbells the stand makes this a breeze. Well worth the investment. I've seen some reviews that said the assembly instructions were difficult to understand and follow, but mine included an easy to follow booklet that contained an exploded diagram plus several details pages with easy to follow steps. It took about 30 minutes to set up mostly due to the number of bolts required to put it together. The construction is solid and sturdy. I only gave it a 4 out of 5 since the wheels (optional) are basically useless if you are trying to move the stand and the weights on carpet. For the most part I just keep them in one place so it's not much of an issue.

5Very solid and easy to put together!  Jan 02, 2010
After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned that putting this together would be a pain, but I entered cautiously, making sure to keep the 2.5 inch bolts separated from the 2.75 inch bolts and the 3 inch bolts, then just followed the directions making sure to use the correct pieces. Construction really took only about 45 minutes. I am one who usually does not follow directions during assembly, or at least uses them as a last resort, but after reading the reviews, I decided to follow them this time and construction was a breeze. Don't let the other reviews scare you away.

Now for the stands...Very solid, perfect height. You don't want to have to pick 50 pounds off the floor, so these stands are essential to save your back. I am tall (6'3"), and the height is perfect. I have no worries that the stand will last forever. The weights are awesome too! If you are serious about working out, invest in this and you will not regret it.

3Excellent Idea, but at a cost  Dec 22, 2009
I recently purchased a set of Bowflex 552 Dumbbells during Black Friday and immediately realized the need for a stand to place my weights on. Unfortunately, I could only find one stand that was compatible with this dumbbell set (I like having options to compare between).

One comment I have read on other reviews was that the stand was hard to install and the instructions were not adequate - I had no issues with the either the installation or instructions. It took me about an hour to setup.

Pro:
-Will save your body from bending over to pick up weights
-Sleek look

Con:
-Cost

Conclusion
You have to have something to place your weights on, and other than making a shelf or putting them on some type of table/stand, this is the best thing out there. Recommended if you can afford it.

FYI - If you don't care about the look of your gym, you can simply place these weights on top of the styrofoam that the dumbbells are packed in. Doesn't look good and not as sturdy, but it did the trick for the first month before I caved and bought this stand.

5Solid Stand, Looks good  Dec 18, 2009
I find it easier to place my 552 dumbbells back having them raised on this stand vice sitting on the ground. The stand looks good and is well constructed. I didn't have problems with assembly, it goes much quicker if you have your own tools (Ratchet/Alan Wrench) and the instructions are straight forward. It took about 30 minutes start to finish, luckily I didn't have the hole alignment issues others have posted. I'm not sure but previous users may have had trouble if they tightened down all the hardware before everything was assembled, the directions state when to torque down the bolts. If you've ever put any home furniture together you should have no problem. I still worry a little about the durability of the dumbbells, but have no doubt that the stand will last a long time.
