Great for Workout, Bad in QualitySep 10, 2008 There is no doubt that medicine ball strength and conditioning work is effective. However, this particular ball did not stand up to the work I demanded of it. After just two months of use, which was maybe twice per week, the ball's stitching gave out. I contacted the company directly and learned that the ball was only covered under warranty for two months after purchase. Disappointing from a company like Everlast. I have used other leather medicine balls and have never had one bust open like this ball did. So, I am returning to using what I originally had purchased... Dynamax. The price is a bit higher, but I guess I got what I paid for. If you are using this ball for high impact exercises, such as throwing against a wall or ground, I don't suggest buying this particular brand. Sorry Everlast.
Medicine BallJul 10, 2008 The Everlast Medicine is just what I expected. Perfect for exercising and just the right weight for those who are not wieners.
Doesn't get any better than this oneMay 20, 2008 I am not a fan of the rubber medicine balls, as this one absorbs some of the impact when tossing it back and forth. Very well constructed, great feel, and HEAVY! If you're looking for a sturdy, quality medicine ball, the Everlast line is the best out there. Will last you for a very long time. Very happy with this ball, as it is an integral part of my workout routine, and for some reason overlooked by a lot of people as an amazing core and strength trainer.
Good quality, good priceMar 31, 2008 This ball is ideal weight, well constructed and well priced. I use it a few times a week in conjunction with a Danskin DA-2637R 10 lb. Weighted Toning Ball. The Everlast is hard and solid while the Danskin is soft and pliable. The Everlast is great for explosive two handed throws from your back while the lighter ball is ideal for one handed throws and is good for your grip. The combination of the two have been great for a dynamic chest work-out. Other than free weights, I also use the Harbinger 373500 Padded Handle Push Up Bars.
Great for dogs!Mar 30, 2008 I professionally train dogs for dog sledding and I'm always looking for new ways to workout my dogs that won't bore them. I've tried several different brands of medicine balls to work on core strength and endurance (very important for a sled dog!) and the Everlast is without a doubt the front of the pack. Unlike other medicine balls, the taste of the Everlast's leather doesn't seem to bother the dogs. The extra padding on the ball also prevents the nasty dental injuries that were so problematic with the thinner balls. My dogs are now in the best shape of their lives and we all love this medicine ball! A word of warning: the 14-15 lb. ball is great for dogs in an existing training program, but if you are just starting out it is safer to start with a 7-8 lb. ball.
