5So comfortable! Dec 04, 2007
I just love this chair! I use it for my desk chair at work, 50+ hours a week, constantly at the computer. I've been using it for nearly a year and my lower back problems are no longer bothered at all by the long hours of sitting.

The cushion on your "seat" is adjustable by how much you inflate the ball. If you inflate fully and it's too firm, let a little air out for a softer, more cushy seat.

The back rest is not meant to lean against....just to occasionally lightly touch your back and encourage proper posture. With this chair, I'm much more likely to sit up straight with good posture -- for which my lower back is very grateful! The ergonomic chairs I've used before have left me feeling so stiff and in so much pain at the end of the work day, I couldn't do anything after work. Now at the end of the day, my back doesn't hurt, and I feel like I've been working my core...not to the point of soreness...just strengthening it.

Other people at my office have purchased these chairs and love them as well.

2it's a nice toyNov 22, 2007
but it's not gonna watch your back. I bought this chair to help with my posture and minimise the back pain I sometimes get from prolonged sitting. the ball is supposed to "force" your back into an upright position and prevent slumping.
as the previous review states, if you sit on it too long you will become uncomfortably sweaty. also, this ball & chair frame did not help MY posture at all. the back 'rest' was pointless. if you decide sit against the back of the chair... the ball will roll uncomfortably forward, creating an akward and deep "ditch" but you probably won't want to use the backrest for long due to it's flimsy feel.
the frame itself looks yard-sale cheap. I do not believe this chair is worth more then $50 at the most ($30 for the frame $20 for the ball)
if you want something to sit on, the ball ALONE (or with a stabilizer)works so much better.
If you're good, you can find a decent ball for $10 or a good one for $20.
as for my chair, you'll find it offered for $20 bucks at my next yard sale.

1Not for prolonged sittingJul 10, 2007
I like the concept more than the product itself. I tend to sit at my computer for hours at a time and don't take many breaks. This chair is comfortable for the first half-hour or so and at that point my experience is general soreness of the tail bone, "nether parts," and the small of the back. As you can see from the product description, the ball itself is plastic. Plastic does not dissipate heat well. In addition to soreness in said nether parts one may expect to experience some localized sweating. Perhaps a towel on the chair would help, though I've not bothered--I'm back in my old wooden chair (with pillow!) in my search of a better office chair.
