You get what you pay for Apr 25, 2009 I got this weight bench several weeks ago. It was made in China (I gotta start buying American) and reasonably assembled. Not great, some pieces needed some serious force to attach. Once I put it together I found the following: the leg attachment is not for someone over 6' tall. My feet hit the floor. The seat is a little wobbly, but not too much to use. The pad on the curl attachment was torn, I still need to call and get a replacement. The pads on the leg section are pretty narrow, and kind of crappy imo. Over all it seems sturdy and strong enough to hold 300 lbs. The safety catch is good to have, but sometime annoying. I don't think its worth $375, but it can be purchased for a lot less. I think I paid about $200 total with shipping, which is about what its worth. In the future I will not purchase things like this online. I will probably end up selling this eventually and buying something better. Which is what I should have done in the first place. If you are debating getting a weight bench, consider a set of dumbbells and a simple bench. It will save you money and likely give you what you want without taking up an entire room in your house. I give it 3 stars because its about what I should have expected based on the price.
So I just got off the phone with customer service. I requested a replacement curl pad, because the one I received was torn. They tried to get me to pay a handling fee for the replacement. I refused and pointed out that I should not have to pay anything to get a part replaced because it arrived damaged in the box. They finally agreed and said they would wave the fee this one time. Gotta love customer "no-service".
