SatisfiedApr 30, 2008 Great product. Only gripe is it has a tendency to scoot across the floor, but that can be remedied.
Not as easy as we'd hoped.Apr 19, 2008 I bought this for my Grandma for her 90th birthday. They used something similar when she was in rehab for a stroke, and this was what she really wanted.
I had read reviews saying some of the features don't actually work. Increasing the tension - doesn't really, and the digital meters seem inaccurate at best, and the remote doesn't work. That's all true, but I still think it's designed well - light enough to be portable but heavy enough to stay put when pedaling. It seems to be just right for her.
I think the only challenge that we hadn't considered is that it's hard for her to get started on her own. Just getting the feet into the pedal stirrups comfortably is hard, and getting them back out is a bit of a challenge too. She did have 3 strokes over the last 12 months, so it's one of those things that seems simple, but now it's not, and we didn't know.

Make good use of your TV and Reading time with exerciseMar 25, 2008 I researched for an pedal exerciser. Some models used a threaded bolt to increase or decrease the resistance. Other models were so lightweight that they were unstable and the legs had just pads over the steel tubes and would not grip properly. Others had go feedback( how fast MPH, how far in Miles, how much time used.
The Isokinetics model is great. It is very quiet to use, has a large handle opening for picking it up and moving it around, easy to read the MPH, time, distance, calories used. The supporting feet are far enough apart that it creates a very stable platform. The heavy grippers on the end of each leg dig into the carpet and slow down the creeping movement. There is creeping movement forward because you are pushing forward on the pedals.
If anybody is considering a pedal exerciser don't go the cheap route go with the Isokinetic Pedal Exerciser.

Great Upper Body Exerciser!Jan 12, 2008 I bought this unit because I went to a rehab facility, where they had a commercial unit I used. This unit is just as effective in toning the upper body as the commercial ones. It gets rid of under arm fat and works the shoulders and neck very well. The adjustable resistance allows for a great cardio workout. Highly recommended!
