Does the job Mar 29, 2010
I broke my ankle the day the uGallop arrived; timely to say the least. I've been riding english for 15 years and was looking only for a core workout, not a horse substitute. Little did I know how useful the uGallop would be. I am off riding for at least 10 weeks and this machine will keep me muscle fit in ways that are important for staying in the saddle. Does it ride like a horse? Not at all. But it does keep my inner thighs, abs and back muscles toned as promised. There are some features I don't like about the uGallop: First, the saddle area is higher in the back (built like a quarter horse) rather than being level with the front and so the motion of the machine pushes you forward and this can make your back sore. Second, the stirrups are placed in an awkward and in my opinion, useless place. You can get a better workout without using them or if you are tall like me, just touching your toes to the floor. Finally, the controls work so that you can only "increase" or "stop". I actually put my own saddle on top of the uGallop, which added to the fun. Caution: Position carefully to keep the uGallop in balance or it starts to rock. Yahoo! Don't get bucked off.

my family visited Brookstone's store and woudlnt leave the iGallop (first model) alone. they LOVED it. they sat on it for almost 30 min. and i thought maybe the uGallop (2nd model) would be even more ergonomic but i was wrong. uGallop gave us crotchache after 2 min of riding it. Plus teh one that i got is slanted more towards teh left. trust me on this, ugallop looks a lot more comfortable but it doesn't really feel more comfortable. comparing to the first model the first model was a lot better. you don't feel a crotchache at all. and the motion of the machine is more realistic.

Delivery was speedy. I have used my uGallop every day since receiving it. I can all ready see the results. For any one who wants to strengthen their mid section this is the way to go. It only takes fifteen minutes to do one preprogrammed session. I am very happy with my new uGallop and would recommend it to any one.

I found the ugallop amazing. It's the closest thing to a real horse. A really big horse, that is. The movement is exaggerated and there's no impact. I found the stirrups to be too far forward. I think I'm going to buy a lightweight pair of stirrups and put them over the center of the saddle where they belong. If you really want to strengthen and improve balance you want to hold you feet up anyway. I always found that when my lower back hurts, It always feels better when I ride my horse. The same seems true for the ugallop. It gets the lower back moving... I can ride the ugallop everyday and keep my core strong for when I do ride my horse. If you can prevent a fall by having a strong core and good balance, then it's worth every dime. I chose the ugallop over the igallop for it's looks and comfort. I think that has more range of motion that igallop and it's very quiet, By the way, if anyone teases you about it being a sex toy, they have certainly never ridden a horse!
