Better than expected quality Mar 20, 2010 I've had this blood pressure monitor device for about two months now. It is solid, reliable and has more features than I expected.
The fact that it can store two sets of reading is very useful. My wife and I both use it without messing up each other's stats.
Still the best Mar 19, 2010 The cuff on my old Omron HEM-780 got a little stretched out/loose
so I thought it would be wise to invest in another BP Monitor.. after
researching and reading the reviews I decided to get another Omron
and this model seemed like the best choice. It seems to be just as
accurate as the old model. I changed cuffs from one unit to the other
and got practically the same readings and I like the ability to have the
A and B switch for 2 people.
This unit seems a little less user friendly than the last unit.
You can either set it to take 3 readings at 3 different
intervals - 15/30/60 seconds apart and then it averages them and gives
you the averaged reading whereas I prefer to see what each individual
reading is as the first reading can sometimes be much higher OR take
the first reading, but then you have to turn the unit off to take another
reading. But all in all I am happy with this unit and it IS accurate.
My readings are sometimes extremely low (104/57) but do get higher
readings (147/69) so I am happy to know the unit is accurate for my
husband who goes to his Nephrologist and compares the readings to
what he gets when taking his pressure as soon as he comes home
from the dr's office. I would buy this unit again as I have in the
past.. no need to start hooking the unit up to my computer... I made
a grid in Word and enter the readings there.. don't need the computer
to be on to see the comparisons..
See! I do have a heart...this machine says so. Mar 19, 2010 I really learned a lesson about reading reviews on products when I bought this. I read so many mixed reviews on these home blood pressure monitors that I almost didn't buy one. I decided to stick with the majority of reviewers, buy it and check it out myself. I have used this item for several months now and with the exception of the first few uses straight out of the box it has worked very well and accurate compared with other devices. I did expect a short break-in period since it is a machine that has been cramped up in a box for quite some time.
Couldn't be more pleased - easy to understand/easy to use Mar 17, 2010 With two seniors in our household battling hypertension it has been critical for us to track our BP readings at home for the doctor visits. If we don't take in a record, the doctors hits us with more meds even if our BP readings are high in his office due to "white coat syndrome".
The wrist monitor has been inaccurate - readings far too low. The other monitor we had which required a stethoscope was awkward for us to use individually.
This machine is GREAT - records readings so we can take the machine to the Dr's office and prove HE is what elevates our blood pressure. It has many features such as irregular heartbeat monitor, morning hypertension versus all day and more. Even we older people are able to understand it and keep our records separate.
We couldn't be more pleased.
Nice item to have Mar 16, 2010 If you need a simple to use home blood pressure monitor this is the one to get. I've been very pleased with this item, but there is one word of warning. All blood pressure monitors are sensitive to cuff size and if you need a larger cuff or you get the cuff too tight you may get an inaccurately high reading.
