Outstanding Addition Mar 13, 2010 I bought this inexpensive HRM to assist with my workouts in running and cycling. It provides me with the needed data to ensure I am preforming at my peak. I have not had any issues with this product, you only have to read and understand the instructions. It did take me a minute to figure out how to turn off the beeping when you are not in your zone, but now that that is over it is the perfect addition to my workouts. I also use this HRM to assist me with me with my rides. Instead of spending more money on a wireless system for my bike, I use my current HRM to transmit the data to my computer.
easy to set up! Feb 15, 2010 This monitor was very easy to set up. I have a little bit of trouble occasionally where the monitor starts measuring the heart rate and then stops during my workout. That has only happened a couple of times; no big deal...so that day, I can't record my HR.

Stopped working twice within a year Feb 13, 2010 I bought this item for my wife when she started going to the gym. Despite its specifications, this watch didn't resist water. When it first stopped working we sent it to be fixed at Polar labs and it took them almost a month to return it "fixed". My wife decided to be careful with the watch (again, it's supposed to be water resistant 30M) but when she forgot to take it off going into the swimming pool after two month it again stopped working.
I am not going to purchase another device from Polar. I've had over the years 3 of their products and it seems that Timex has more durable products.
Entry level heart monitor Feb 10, 2010 If you want a simple, basic heart rate monitor this will work for you. It works well and does exactly what it says it will do.
It's my first monitor so I wasn't sure which features I'd need.
Now that I do have some experience with it, however, I do know now I'd go with a more feature rich model.
This model does NOT keep a record of individual results for multiple activities in a single day.
The display will show either HR% or BPM (beats per minute) but not both at the same time.
You cannot upload your workout results to Polar's website.
And some of Polar's other models have additional functionality that sound interesting (whether I'd use them or not, I'm not sure).
Once my battery dies I'm going for either the F6 or F11.

Polar heart rate monitor Feb 01, 2010 I really like the product but wish Amazon would have indicated the size of the transmitter band that goes around your chest. There are different sizes, but this information wasn't available when I ordered the watch. Overall, I've had no problems with the product.
