Using weights made easy Mar 15, 2010 This weight set is both easy to use and excellent industrial design. I have used this set working with a personal trainer. When I decided to buy my own set, this was the top choice. Reasonably priced too.
Love them! Mar 12, 2010 I just received them last evening and they are exactly what I expected. The 3 lb. increments up to 24lbs are perfect. They are just the right size for a woman. In comparison, the Bowflex and Selecttech's were too big and cumbersome for me. These are perfect. They are compact and don't take up much room at all.
You need to be attentive when putting in the pins. There is a top side and bottom side to the gray pin-bar. I have found that when inserted upside down the plates do click together and the pin handlebar falls out. Other than that minor note, I love them! As one review stated, you can hear the plates click together when lifting, but I found that when the pins are inserted properly and the gray bar is snug to the frame there is no or very little noise. If you don't want any noise, I suggest getting dumbbells. Quite frankly, I'm more focused on getting through P90X than a little bit of noise!
Space saving and efficient Mar 07, 2010 I've had these for about a month now and they're a great space saver in addition to being a very sturdy product.
Major use: I got them to use with Chalean Extreme from Beachbody and it works really well as the program goes from one exercise to the next - it's a very quick change and I had no trouble getting used to them.
Range: I've always been physically active and I find this range of weights is fine for me as I don't anticipate ever going higher than 25 pounds for upper body. My lower body can handle a little higher technically but I didn't feel the need to get the higher range of this product. I preferred having the 2.5-3 pound increments as I find that there's a big difference with what I can lift when doing a bicep curl versus a shoulder press for example.. If you're trying to decide between these and the 5-45 pounds, what made my decision was that 90% of the exercises I do will be adequately supplemented by up to 25 pounds. For those few exercises where I want heavier I could always just get an adjustable pair with a couple of plates that goes between 25-40 and that would be fine. But for right now I am getting a perfectly good workout with this range.
Grip: love it. it's hard for someone like me with small hands to find dumbbells with a good grip.
Noise: Someone said something about a clanking sound, there's a minor amount of that but nothing I would have noticed if I hadn't been looking for it. I've used the spin lock adjustable dumbbells for years and those make noise too as you go up in weights...I think that's just the nature of adding on plates.
I really have found no flaw in these. If you're using carpet I would recommend getting the tray...I'm using hardwood floors so they're fine as is for me. I usually just put them up on my table when I'm working out so I don't have to bend down so much.
What more can you say? Its Powerblock! Mar 03, 2010 I bought this set for my wife to use for P90X. I have the classic version and we both love the Powerblock design. Quick weight changes, heavy duty material, and perfect for those who want to save space. What more can you say? Its Powerblock, the best adjustable dumbbells on the market.

Great Buy, Must Have! Jan 30, 2010 I am so glad I read the reviews and bought these. I am a new lifter and the 3lb increments are great! They are easy to use and surprisingly i like the shape as opposed to round. As a female who is lifing to get into shape i don't think i would ever need anything heavier and they take up little to no room in my apt. The price is right too! Love them, love them, love them! I never like a product so much that I wanted to review it but the other reviews were what helped me decide so i want to help too!
