Sole E25 Elliptical Trainer (2008 Model)

This product is currently out of stock
Description:

Enjoy an efficient full-body workout without heading to the gym with the Sole E25 elliptical trainer. Boasting a heavy 23-pound flywheel, a high gear ratio not found on most comparable models, and a pair of upper body handles, the E25 delivers an extremely smooth workout with plenty of top-end resistance. Users will also appreciate the unique oversize and adjustable foot pedals, which were designed in collaboration with a leading physical therapist and sports enthusiast. The pedals are not only extra large, but also feature a 2-degree inward slope that reduces the ankle and knee stress that's common in other elliptical machines. And thanks to the stationary handle bars with built-in pulse sensors, it's a breeze to monitor your heart rate as you exercise (a chest strap is also included for highly accurate wireless monitoring).

Workout specifics include 16 resistance levels, six total programs, and a 20-inch stride length. Perhaps the handiest feature from a user perspective, however, is the easy-to-use electronic console, which integrates a blue backlit LCD display, a cooling fan, and a water bottle holder. The E25, which offers a maximum weight capacity of 300 pounds, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, three years on all parts and electronics, and one year on the labor.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

5Happy with Sole E25Jun 27, 2009
I read a lot of reviews and did a fair amount of research before spending my money on an elliptical. Once I decided on the Sole, most reviews recommended spending the extra money for at least the E35. However, when I went to the store to test them, the E25 felt better for me. I was willing to spend the extra if that's what was best but decided that the E25 met all my needs and just felt right.
I had it delivered and set up and am perfectly happy with it. It's smooth and quiet. I've never used a wireless heart rate monitor so I was easily impressed with that and using it has improved and changed some of my routines. It has only been a few weeks but so far I am very pleased and would highly recommend this machine.

1THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING A SOLE!Jan 13, 2009
I purchased this machine about a month ago it arrived with a cracked pedal.I had a scheduled appointment with a techinician for today, They never showed!(did I mention I waited a month for the pedal and the appointment!) So I called them to let them know ,so now after owning a brand new machine for a month the pedal is still cracked and the unit makes a creaky noise and I'm still wating for someone to fix it! The fan on this unit is ok it's not great. The mp3 feature (headphones or speaker) is a nice option that can probably be found on other machines.Unfortunately I can't really give the machine a fair review because of Soles terrible customer service.Think twice before buying you might get a good machine, but what happens when it needs to be repaired?

4Works well, effective warrantyNov 28, 2008
I bought this machine locally in April of 2007. We had previously owned a ~$500 machine that seemed rather flimsy compared to this unit. It is definitely smooth and sturdy, but it seems to have gradually begun making noise (first clunking noises, then rumbling, etc). About two weeks ago I called Sole customer service and got a live person who asked for my unit's serial number told me that a technician would call me back within 24 hours. I wasn't really expecting a call that soon, if ever (not because of Sole but because of Customer Service outfits in general) but sure enough a guy called me back in the allotted time and figured out the parts that I needed. I received them in the mail the end of that week; one was the brake and I also got some updated pedal-arm connectors. According to the warranty, I was apparently to have received free labor but I always feel better about doing the work myself if I can, and was just glad to get the parts for free (which they should have been, still being under warranty). It is a lot quieter now, not as much as when new but much much better.

Also, to those who had issues with the pedals coming off of the tracks, you may want to try and tighten the allen screws that secure the pedal-arm to the big wheel. After I put mine back together I found that the pedals seemed really wobbly unless I tightened those screws really tight.

4Nice machineNov 23, 2008
This is a well built machine with a lot of features. Setup was easy and took about 30 minutes. I'm over 6' tall so the longer stride length really makes a difference.

1$2000 piece of junkOct 27, 2008
$2000 piece of junk. It jumps off track causing metal shavings to fly all over the room, I had to put cardboard under part of the track. If I did not have to distroy the packaging to get it out of the packaging I would return it. Cannot return without original packaging.
