Good...But BewareOct 21, 2008
I love the machine as it really helps my workout. I work with a gyrotonics instructor and now can do the same workout at home. Assembly is v. difficult compared with my pilates equipment which I have purchased in the past.

The actual machin itself works wonderfully. Assembly was no problem, had it done in 15 minutes by myself. Doing the workouts it works out great.
However, a HUGE warning. The people who produce the videos for the Transformer are, first of all, only selling them in VHS Format. Second of all, they're no longer making copies of them and have no stock left of some of them. So. If you intend to follow any of the video workouts, find a different product, as you'll be left high and dry with this thing.
I'd recommend another product for this fact alone, unless you know precisely what workouts your doing ahead of time.

It is a great buy compared to what was being talked about in 2001--$1200. The unfortunate thing is that the included level 1 video is VHS. If you don't know anyone with a converter, businesses such as Ritz Camera, Walgreens, and Costco can convert the tape to DVD for about $30. The level 2 and 3 workouts can be bought thru Stamina's (the makers of this Gyrotonic) website. (It would be great if Amazon would list these tapes for sale also.)

This is a great machine. I have been taking private pilates/gyrotonic transformer lessons and wanted to keep this up at home between classes. It is easy to use and you can work every muscle on it at your pace.
Stamina is lovely to deal with.
I had to convert the vhs to a dvd so I could see the tape and it is a very useful one indeed.
I'm now would like a level 2 instructional dvd tape which I cannot find anywhere.
This is a great home workout machine at a great price.

I recently started taking gyrotonic at my pilates studio and it's amazing. With this machine I can do all the same exercises at home. I have tried everything and this is hands down the best. My body has never felt better. I am a runner and for the first time in years can run with no pain and with much better performance. It's no wonder celebrities like Madonna and Teri Hatcher have picked it up. Machine is very sturdy and easy to assemble.
